This Cookie Policy explains how Let’s Get Financial (“the site”) uses cookies and similar technologies. It works alongside the site’s Privacy Policy.
I use Complianz to collect and store your cookie preferences and to block non-essential cookies until you consent. You can change your choices at any time via Cookie Settings in the footer.
1) What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device. They help websites work, measure performance and remember preferences. Similar technologies include local storage, pixel tags and embedded scripts.
2) How I use cookies on this site
I aim to keep cookies to a minimum.
- Strictly necessary: Required for core functions (security, consent).
- Analytics (cookieless): I use Independent Analytics for basic pageview and referrer metrics stored on my server—no tracking cookies are set by this tool.
- Embedded media (YouTube): Videos may set cookies only after you click/consent. Until then, placeholders are shown.
- No advertising/retargeting cookies are set by me.
3) Your choices
- Consent banner: On your first visit, Complianz asks for consent by category.
- Change or withdraw consent: Use Cookie Settings in the footer at any time.
- Browser controls: You can block or delete cookies in your browser; note that essential features may not work without necessary cookies.
- Do Not Track: I honour your explicit choices via the banner. Browser “DNT” signals are not consistently supported by third parties.
4) Cookies by category
A) Strictly necessary (always active)
Used to deliver pages securely and remember your consent choices.
- cmplz_banner-status / cmplz_functional / cmplz_preferences / cmplz_statistics (Complianz) — remembers your consent selections.
Duration: up to 365 days
Provider: letsgetfinancial.com - cmplz_consented_services / cmplz_policy_id / cmplz_marketing (Complianz) — stores which services and policy version you agreed to.
Duration: up to 365 days
Provider: letsgetfinancial.com - wpx cookies (e.g., server routing / cache indicator) (hosting) — deliver pages fast and reliably.
Duration: session to a few hours
Provider: wpx.net / letsgetfinancial.com
Note: Exact cookie names may change with plugin updates. Complianz maintains an up-to-date internal list.
B) Analytics (cookieless by design)
- Independent Analytics records page views and referrers in my WordPress database without using cookies.
Data stored: page URL, referrer URL, timestamps, anonymised IP (where configured).
Cookies: none.
C) Embedded media (YouTube — requires consent)
Loaded only when you click a player or enable this category in the banner.
- YSC (YouTube) — stores a unique session ID for playback.
Duration: session
Provider: youtube.com - VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE (YouTube) — measures bandwidth; may personalise interface.
Duration: ~6 months
Provider: youtube.com - PREF (YouTube/Google) — stores preferences like language.
Duration: up to 8 months
Provider: youtube.com - CONSENT / SOCS (YouTube/Google) — records your consent status.
Duration: up to 2 years
Provider: youtube.com / google.com
Where feasible, I use privacy-enhanced embeds. Playback may still set cookies or similar identifiers controlled by YouTube.
5) Third-party services used
- Complianz (consent management)
- Independent Analytics (cookieless site metrics)
- YouTube (video hosting)
- WPX (hosting and security)
Some providers are outside the UK. If data is transferred internationally (e.g., to the US), I rely on an appropriate safeguard under UK law (e.g., UK-US Data Bridge, UK Addendum to EU SCCs, or IDTA). See the Privacy Policy for details.
6) Changes to this policy
I review this page when services or laws change. I’ll update the date above and, if changes are material, I’ll post a notice or seek renewed consent if required.

Questions about cookies?
Email hello@letsgetfinancial.com.
Annex (optional): Cookie Declaration
Complianz can generate a live “Cookie Declaration” table that lists each cookie detected on your current configuration (name, purpose, provider, duration). If you enable that block, it will appear here and stay in sync with plugin updates.

Notes for you (delete before publishing)
- If you switch analytics in future (e.g., to GA4), update Sections 2, 4 and 5 and ensure GA is blocked until consent.
- If you add other embeds (Spotify, Vimeo, X/Twitter), add a short sub-section under Embedded media with cookie names/durations (your Complianz scan can populate these).
- If you add a scheduler (e.g., Calendly), treat it like an embed: it may set cookies after interaction—document under Embedded media and ensure it’s blocked until consent.
